Venus’ Achari Paneer Wrap

Another recipe customized by Venus with some changes to suit her family’s palette; She says its ‘Delicious”



PrepTime 10mins – Serves 2-3 – CookTime 30mins




1.400 gm paneer
2.1/2 green capsicum diced finely
3.1/2 red capsicum diced finely
4.1cup shredded cabbage
5. amul cream cheese (dont know its equivalent your end of the world)

For the marinade :
1. 1 youghurt (400g) hang in cloth for 20-30 minutes till water drains
2. 1- 2tbsp green chilli achar
3.1tsp garic chopped
4.1tsp saunf
5. 1/4 tsp mustard
6.1/4 tsp methi seeds ( i prefer roast and pounding them to powder )
7. 1tsp jeera
8. 1/4 tsp haldi
9.1/4 tsp sugar
salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

To make the marinade:
Heat oil , crackle the mustard in it, followed by the saunf , methi powder, onion, garlic, green chilli pickle, salt & sugar. Fry for 1-2 mins. Remove from fire & add it to the hung youghurt in another bowl & keep aside.

Boil water & add some turmeric to it, take off the heat & immerse paneer cubes into it for 10 mins.
Then fry the paneer ( Venus just browns them slightly in a nonstick pan)

Make parathas/rotis (or use readymade rotis/ panini/ pita/ khubz/ burrito breads) & on each paratha put :
1st layer – Cheese
2nd layer – marinade
3rd layer – cabbage & capscicum
4th layer – paneer
Roll the paratha tightly & close to the filling, tucking the loose ends in. Roast on the tawa, evenly on all sides (with some butter, preferably). Hold it together with a toothpick and serve with a sauce or chutney of your choice.

    Theres a spot in San Francisco – where I had my first experience with paneer (was a paneer roll) – have been on indian paneer dish quests ever since! Tried this one – turned out just great! Nice one Venus – Thanks again!
