Corn-n-Curd Soup

Don’t be fooled by the picture; This isn’t Daal. Its a light soup made of yoghurt & grated corn – Quick & nutritious!

PrepTime 5mins – Serves 4 – CookTime 10mins


2 tender corn cobs – grated finely or ground coarsely.
1 cup beaten curd/yogurt
1/s tsp cumin seeds
1″ ginger piece
3 green chilies
few sprigs coriander leaves
1tsp coriander pwd
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric pwd
salt & chili pwd to taste
Cooking Instructions:
Grind the chilies & ginger together
Beat the curd in 1 cup water till smooth – leave to come to room temp.
Heat 3tbsp oil & add cumin seeds.
When they stop spluttering, add the corn & fry for 5mins.
Add the spices, salt & ginger-chili paste.
Add the beaten curd, a little at a time, stirring constantly.
Cover & cook till the smell of raw corn disappears.
Sprinkle coriander leaves & serve with bread, rice or rotis.
