Parsi Prawn Kabab (Prawn Cutlet)

Spicy cutlets of minced prawns – a traditional Parsi snack.

PrepTime 5mins – CookTime 20mins – Serves 5





300g shelled & deveined prawns

1 egg

1tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 chopped green chilli

6 garlic pods – crushed

1/2 tsp turmeric pwd

1 tsp cumins pwd

1 cup breadcrumbs

chopped coriander leaves

salt & pepper to taste

oil for frying.


Cooking Instructions:

1. Wash and marinate the prawns with salt for 30 mins.

2. Wash the prawns again and pound them.

3. Add the rest of the ingredients except the egg and pound again until well blended.

4. Knead in the egg.

5. Make into small balls & flatten on your palm.

6. Dust them with bread crumbs & shallow fry until golden brown.

7. Serve hot with cold mint-yoghurt sauce/ chutney.
